Assoc. Prof. Dr. Artur Serafin, a distinguished scholar in environmental sciences, graduated with a degree in environmental protection from the Agricultural University of Lublin (1995) with a diploma for outstanding academic achievements. He earned his doctorate in agricultural sciences in horticulture, specializing in applied ecology, from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (2004), and his postdoctoral degree in engineering and technical sciences, specializing in environmental engineering, mining, and energy, from the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (2019). He also completed postgraduate studies in Research Project Management and Development Work at the University of Economics and Innovation in Lublin (2009) and holds a tenured teacher’s degree in biology and environmental protection (2000). Dr. Serafin directs the Korekta Further Education Center in Lublin and created the postgraduate program “Environmental Impact Assessment and Management” at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. His research focuses on lake productivity under anthropogenic pressure, peat bog dynamics, and nature-based solutions such as natural swimming ponds with regenerative macrophytes and mineral filtration systems.
